Cleveland had an 11-point lead in the third quarter and then fell behind by six points in the fourth, but they still managed to win 114-105 against the Washington Wizards on Sunday.
Jarrett Allen had a great game with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, while Caris LeVert, who had been struggling in his last two games, played much better. He scored 18 points, grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds, and had eight assists. This helped Cleveland win against Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz, who he returned after missing two games because he was sick.
For the Cavaliers, Jerome (ankle injury) and Thompson (suspended) will not be playing the game. As for the Mavericks, Exum will not be playing the game due to a knee injury. Besides, Kleber could also miss out on the game due to injury.
LeVert said that even though Sunday’s game wasn’t pretty, they still won. He pointed out that he had a big game against the Dallas Mavericks on December 27th, scoring 29 points and hitting a 3-pointer that put the Cavaliers ahead late in the fourth quarter. This helped them win 113-110.
In that game, Doncic scored 39 points, and he scored 33 points on Sunday. But, the Mavericks lost to the Indiana Pacers 133-111, ending their seven-game winning streak. Doncic is the best scorer in the NBA, averaging 34.3 points per game, and he also leads the team in assists (9.5) and rebounds (8.8).
Kyrie Irving scored 29 points on Sunday for Dallas, who are in eighth place in the Western Conference. The Mavericks are finishing up a four-game road trip with games in Toronto on Wednesday and Boston on Friday.
