Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks is on fire lately, heading into Monday’s game against the Chicago Bulls. Despite consistently leaving his defenders in the dust, he’s still as humble as ever.

Even after smashing an NBA record with his sixth straight 30-point triple-double, Doncic stays true to himself. His incredible performance of 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists led the Mavericks to a big 142-124 win against Detroit on Saturday. It’s also worth noting that this marked the fifth consecutive game where Doncic scored at least 35 points to trigger a triple-double, leading the league in this remarkable feat.

Dallas has bagged back-to-back wins, which is the first time they’ve done so since they went on a hot streak with seven wins in a row from February 5th to the 22nd. In the latest game, four teammates joined Doncic in the double-digit scoring club, with Kyrie Irving leading the pack with 21 points.

Injury report

For the Bulls, Ball (knee injury), LaVine (ankle injury), and Williams (foot injury) will not play the game. As for the Mavericks, only Lively is unavailable for the game due to some personal reasons.

Key matchups

The Mavericks are holding strong in the Western Conference playoff race, getting within one game of snagging the sixth seed. This means they’re close to avoiding the conference play-in tournament altogether. The Bulls, deep in the conference play-in mix, couldn’t finish off a perfect 4-0 road trip and extend their season-high winning streak. They fell short with a 112-102 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

Los Angeles turned things around big time after halftime, outscoring Chicago 66-45. This erased the Bulls’ solid first-half effort. They were hoping to reach the .500 mark for the first time since starting the season 2-2 back on Oct. 30. The Bulls have either won or shared the last four season series against Dallas. If they want to keep the streak alive, they’ve got to bounce back from a 114-105 road loss back on November 1st.

Even though Nikola Vucevic had a standout performance for Chicago with 21 points and a whopping 20 rebounds in that game, the Mavericks’ Grant Williams stole the show with 25 points, leading all scorers. Meanwhile, Doncic pitched in with 18 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds.
