The Cleveland Cavaliers host Charlotte Hornets at the Rocket Mortgage Field House arena for an NBA game on Friday. The Hornets come into this game after losing to the Indiana Pacers at home 125-113. Lamelo Ball scored a game-high 26 points for the Hornets. Kelly Oubre Jr. put up 19 points and 13 rebounds to notch a double-double while P.J Washington scored 24 points. Hornets led by 3 points in the first half but had a poor showing in the second half. The Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 98-112 in their last game. Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell tied for team-high scores of 23 points. Evan Mobley had 20 points and 7 rebounds as well.
The Cavaliers were on an 8-game winning streak before their 5-game-losing stint on the road. Cleveland coach J.B. Bickerstaff thinks his team got complacent after the hot start. Bickerstaff said, “We got kind of a fat cat mentality. We went out and won eight games in a row, everybody was giving us love and praising us, and we got really comfortable,”
