The Charlotte Hornets recently shared an update, about their practice facility in downtown Charlotte. In collaboration with Novant Health, the team has committed to fund the development of the facility. This space will not only provide a space for practice but also provide state-of-the-art sports medicine and orthopaedic services. This initiative aligns with the Hornet’s goal of being a leading NBA franchise. Let’s explore more about this project.

The Hornets have emphasized their dedication to constructing top-tier facilities and the new practice facility is a stride in that direction which is supported by the City of Charlotte and the Charlotte City Council as the team is devoted to establishing a high-quality training environment to boost player growth and uphold their pursuit of excellence.

Partnership with Novant Health

Teaming up with long-time partner Novant Health the Hornets are working on a versatile practice facility that expands beyond norms. This space will not only meet the team’s training requirements and it will also deliver advanced sports medicine and orthopaedic services. This partnership underscores the Hornet’s emphasis on player welfare and their aspiration to provide support services.

The Hornets have decided to fund the practice facility under a revised plan exceeding the initial $30 million contribution from the home city as this move reflects the team’s dedication to establishing an advanced cutting-edge facility that adheres to top-notch standards. The Hornets extend their appreciation to both the City of Charlotte and the Charlotte City Council for their cooperation and backing in bringing this vision to life.

The new practice facility is expected to be situated near the Spectrum Center offering access for players and staff and the target completion date is by 2026 allowing time, for thorough planning and construction.
Furthermore, the Hornets have already announced their renovations, for the Spectrum Center, which will involve adding seats enhancing concourses and upgrading club areas to elevate the overall fan experience.
