Islamabad United will lock horns with Peshawar Zalmi in the 29th match of the PSL on the 12th of March at the Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi. Islamabad United have played 9 games so far in the tournament and ended up on the winning side on six occasions and has lost three games. Rassie van der Dussen has been signed by Islamabad United, they also have some exciting youngsters as well who have done exceedingly well for them. Abrar Ahmed, who had a great Test debut against England last year, is also a part of the squad, it will be interesting to see how effective the mystery bowler will be tomorrow. On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi needs to win this game to avoid depending on other results to qualify for the playoffs. They currently have four wins and five losses from their nine games. Therefore, the best they can end up at is the fourth position in the points table, which would be a significant achievement considering their slow start to the season. Led by Babar Azam, the Zalmi’s primary area of concern is their bowling, which has failed to defend 240-plus totals in two consecutive games. So, they must improve their performance to secure their spot in the top four. The team has some exciting players like Tom Kohler Cadmore, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Rovman Powell, and Mujeeb Ur Rehman are some other international stars but haven’t managed to get the points on board. Jimmy Neesham has been brilliant this season, he was excellent with the ball and made a valuable contribution with the bat which earned him the player of the match award against the Quetta Gladiators. Peshawar Zalmi needs to win this important game to have hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
