Logan Hunter Sargeant is an American racing driver who most recently raced for Carlin in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. He graduated from the Williams Driver Academy and will compete for Williams Racing in the 2023 Formula One World Championship. Sargeant began his motorsport career in 2008 with karting. Before moving to Europe in 2009, he spent his first year competing primarily in national championships. Sargeant won the FIA Karting World Championship in 2015, becoming the first American to do so since Lake Speed in 1978.

Formula 3

Sargeant returned to Carlin in 2019, this time in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. The American scored four points and finished 19th in the championship, five positions ahead of and three positions behind teammates Teppei Natori and Felipe Drugovich. Sargeant joined Prema Racing for the 2020 season, partnering with Frederik Vesti and former British F4 rival Piastri. After three podium finishes, the American won his first FIA F3 race in the second feature race at Silverstone, propelling him to the championship lead. Sargeant won his next race in Belgium, where he won the sprint.

Sargeant announced on February 10, 2021, that he would not compete in the FIA Formula 2 Championship due to financial constraints. He took part in a pre-season F3 test with Charouz Racing System in April. Following that, he was named as a Charouz driver for the 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Sargeant finished fourth in the first third of the season, including a podium at the Red Bull Ring, which he lost post-race due to track limit violations. His first podium of the season came in the first race of the season in Budapest, and he followed that up with a third in Belgium.

Sargeant finished second in the first Zandvoort race, his best finish of the season to that point, after starting from the reversed-grid pole. Finally, the American won his only race of the season in the first race of the final round at Sochi Autodrom, giving Charouz their first Formula 3 victory. Sargeant finished seventh in the standings with 102 points.

Formula 2

Sargeant made his FIA Formula 2 Championship debut with HWA Racelab in the penultimate round of the 2021 season. He finished 16th in the first race but retired in the second sprint due to a mechanical issue. The American finished 14th in the cancelled feature race. Sargeant was announced as a Carlin driver for the 2022 season on December 13, 2021, alongside New Zealander Liam Lawson. Sargeant became the first American driver to win a Formula 2 race on July 3, 2022, when he won the feature Race at the British Grand Prix. Sargeant won the Austria F2 feature race on July 10, 2022, after two drivers in front of him were penalised after the checkered flag.
