There is really only one legitimate contender for the top spot on your own personal tier list of VALORANT teams competing in the VCT EMEA 2023 season. They have only lost once, to BBL Esports in an unexpectedly one-sided game on Ascent.

Alfajer has only grown more dangerous since their comeback, winning all four of their maps by a minimum of seven rounds each. Why Fnatic stands out from the competition in VCT EMEA based on numbers:

Their players frequently occupy the top spots on leaderboards in important statistical categories, which reflects their dominance in terms of both team and individual statistics. According to VLR, Leo is in third place, Derke is fourth, Alfajer is fifth, and Chronicle is seventh among the top seven players in K/D after four games.

Vision Strikers is regarded as the best team in Asia and holds the record for the longest winning streak in competitive esports. While attention is primarily on the rivalries between North America (NA) and Europe (EU), VS surprised Acend fans and cemented its place in the ongoing event.

Four Fnatic players rank in the top seven in the KAST (kill, assist, survive, trade) percentage category, demonstrating the same level of dominance. Derke in particular is the only player to hold the top spot in each of the major stat categories: ACS, damage per round, kills per round, and opening kills per round.

Fnatic is currently leading the EMEA pack in round differential with +42, including the previously mentioned close win over BBL, where they actually lost more rounds over the course of the series than they won. Fnatic has a chance to go 9-0 in the VCT EMEA season, but it’s a difficult path to take. The three outstanding teams NAVI, Vitality, and FUT Esports, who are all 3-1 at the moment, have yet to face Fnatic. When Icebox is removed from the competitive rotation, Fnatic will also lose one of their historically dominant maps.

It would be nothing short of shocking if this team failed to miss out on Masters Tokyo by finishing outside of the top four in VCT EMEA. However, the cohesion of Fnatic’s stars has them playing on a whole other level.
