On June 27, a few hours after the current Episode Six, Act Three wraps up, the new Act, Episode Seven, Act One, will start. After the current Act concludes, Riot Games will likely perform routine server maintenance for a few hours, during which time VALORANT’s servers won’t be accessible. After the maintenance is finished, Patch 7.0 will be released, at which point you can start using all the new content.

There is much to be excited about, barring the discouraging hard rank reset inevitable with Episode Seven’s first Act. The brand-new alternate game mode Team Deathmatch, which is being hosted by none other than a vindictive Max Bot, should be officially welcomed. In the inspired mode, two teams of five players will engage in four stages of intense battles using both weapons and skills.

Expect Agent 23, a new sentinel agent, to join VALORANT Protocol in the upcoming Episode in addition to Team Deathmatch. The agent’s interests are illustrated in a picture, but other than that, not much is known about him. Fans do, however, have some wild theories about this enigmatic figure, with the most well-liked one highlighting his potential connections to Norwegian culture.

In terms of cosmetics, Episode Seven, Act One will debut a brand-new battle pass with titles, player cards, sprays, skins, and other items. As usual, Riot will launch a line of premium weapons that are heavily inspired at the beginning of the episode.

The progression system for VALORANT is also moving into a new phase, with Daily Missions getting a makeover, “Agents and Gears” taking the place of the original Agent Contracts, and a brand-new free-to-earn in-game currency called Kingdom Credits that can be used to unlock agents and earn older battle pass accessories.

Last but not least, since it’s a new Episode, you’ll need to play five matches to unlock your competitive stance after your ranks are reset at the beginning of the season. As tedious as it may sound, don’t worry—even if you begin your current Act two ranks below your previous Act’s achievement (which is typical after an Episode), VALORANT’s honed MMR system, combined with consistent performance, will quickly raise your rank.
