When does Overwatch 2 season 6 start? Release date, time, and all information about it

Although Overwatch 2's fifth season hasn't offered a lot of fresh, original content, Blizzard has promised a lot for the upcoming one, including PvE Story Missions, a new persistent game mode called Flashpoint, Hero Mastery, and of course, a new support hero.

The sixth season of Overwatch 2 isn’t just about adding a new hero to the mix and a new season of the same content. Blizzard’s efforts to create PvE content with “Overwatch 2: Invasion” officially begin with season six. Although Overwatch 2’s fifth season hasn’t offered a lot of fresh, original content, Blizzard has promised a lot for the upcoming one, including PvE Story Missions, a new persistent game mode called Flashpoint, Hero Mastery, and of course, a new support hero.

Season six is quickly approaching after the July 11 mid-cycle patch for season 5. Furthermore, Blizzard has taken a slightly different approach to the timing of its newest content than it did during the previous season. On Thursday, August 10, Overwatch 2’s sixth season will debut. Blizzard usually releases its new seasonal content on the second Tuesday of a given month, so the change in the day of the week is unusual for them.

Although Blizzard has made it clear in a public post that Overwatch 2: Invasion begins at that time, there doesn’t appear to be an explicit explanation for the change. The in-game timer for the Overwatch 2 battle pass shows that there are still days in the season, which is consistent with the start of season six on August 10. Even though the release of Blizzard’s new PvE content doesn’t necessarily have to coincide perfectly with season 6, all signs point in that direction.

The new season will feature Flashpoint, a new permanent game mode, along with Story Missions and a new support hero that Blizzard has already heavily teased. Given how largely redundant Overwatch’s content has been so far in 2023, I’m enthusiastic about the possibility of something new. Although I don’t anticipate everything in season six to be outstanding, if any of the new material manages to liven things up, it will be preferable to the somewhat stale version of the game we’ve been playing lately.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 story missions:

The eagerly anticipated story missions for Overwatch 2 arrive with Season 6. These are PvE-based cooperative narrative adventures in which you and your friends will select one of the predetermined heroes for each mission and battle Null Sector, the villainous organization wreaking havoc on numerous cities.

Rio de Janeiro, Gothenburg, and Toronto will be the locations of the three missions, which will each take place on a different map. While battling various Omnic enemies of varying strengths on these maps, players will need to complete a number of challenging objectives. The Artillery and the Stalkers, two new, more powerful enemy types that will appear in story missions, have been confirmed by the developers.

The missions’ narratives will be accompanied by cinematics to help you become familiar with the Overwatch lore and shed light on the events taking place in each of the cities you’ll be fighting in. The $15 Invasion Bundle will include Overwatch 2’s story missions.
