The goal of VALORANT gameplay is to defeat the opposition, so competition is at its core. In the ranked playlist, players can already compete against opponents of comparable skill, but some devoted teams have made it clear that they want a more competitive setting. This function will be fulfilled by the new Premier game mode, which offers a tournament system for committed teams.

The VALORANT Premier game mode is a brand-new path-to-profession mode that enables players to assemble a five-player team to compete in a more intense setting than the standard ranked mode. In the future, Premier will take the place of open qualifiers for VCT Challengers events as the gateway to professional VALORANT. During the first global open beta phase, which runs from April 25 through May 21, Premier mode will be playable. In July, a brief new beta phase will start. Finally, after VCT Champions 2023 concludes in August, Premier will begin operations in full. In both the beta and post-launch phases of VALORANT, players can access Premier from the main menu by clicking the Play button.

Once you’ve completed these two steps, you can create a new team in VALORANT Premier or join an already-existing one. Teams may have up to seven players, and the MMR of the team’s top five players will determine the division in which you play.

Players must be in good standing with Riot, have finished rank placements at least once over the course of their account history, and have their accounts verified via SMS in order to play Premier. Teams will play up to weekly matches on a featured map during a Premier season during the weekly queue window. Teams receive 100 points for victories, 25 points for defeats, and no points for forfeits. At the end of the season, teams that have accumulated at least 375 points will be eligible for the tournament.

There will be a team-enrollment period before the start of each week’s matches during a season (or the beta phase). Players can either join an existing team or form their own five to seven-player squad. If you don’t enrol in time, you can’t participate in the season. There are no restrictions on the player ranks on a team; however, a team’s placement in a skill division will be determined by the MMR of the top five players on the team, whether they are all in the same rank or at completely different ranks. Teams must choose their regional zone during registration; suggestions are made based on the zone with the lowest average server latency.
