Sonic Sensor (Q)

CONFIGURE a Sonic Sensor. Release the FIRE. The sensor keeps an eye out for any enemy sounds in the area. If there are footsteps, gunfire, or loud noises, it concusses that area. This trap can be very effective in chokepoints with high traffic and frequent firefights, or it can be used to hold down a chokepoint when defending a site from retaking. Players will be compelled to play a little more cautiously when approaching a site or to use preventative measures to avoid being struck by the ability’s powerful concussion blast.

GravNet (C)

FILL OUT a GravNet grenade. Throwing FIRE. For an underhand grenade throw, press ALT FIRE. Any enemies caught in the GravNet are forced to crouch and move slowly as a result of the GravNet’s explosive landing. This can be a great way to stop an incoming rush onto a site because it either causes the enemy to back up while the rest of your team repositions and rotates, or it causes the enemy to get caught and become easy targets for you and your teammates.

Barrier Mesh (E)

PREPARE a Barrier Mesh disc. TO THROW FORWARD A FIRE. When the disc lands, it creates barriers from the landing point that obstruct character movement. This Barrier constructs four walls that radiate from a single origin point in the disc’s center, making it possibly one of Deadlock’s strongest base abilities.

These walls don’t obstruct vision or damage, but they do stop character movement, which makes them an ideal tool for stopping rushes onto sites. Deadlock can ambush anyone attempting to knock down a wall with a quick swing because the orbs holding the walls in place are vulnerable to a lot of bullets before they are destroyed.

Annihilation (X)

Prepare a nanowire accelerator. FIRE sends a nanowire pulse flying, capturing the first enemy it touches. The enemy in a cocoon is propelled along a nanowire path and, unless released, will perish when they reach the end. The nanowire cocoon can be broken apart.

Even though the cocoon is destroyable, Deadlock can use her ultimate to give herself and her allies a significant advantage in a variety of different circumstances. For instance, in a one-vs-two situation, she can cocoon one opponent to immediately force the other player to choose between accepting the one-v-one situation and taking the risk of being eliminated while doing so, or releasing his teammate.

In a five-on-five battle, Deadlock can use her ultimate to divert opponents by forcing them to release a teammate, allowing her other allies to attack and possibly score a few picks. She can hold a spike plant in a one-on-one battle versus a retake by holding the ideal angle to bounce Annihilation off a wall onto the defuser.
