You sat on the loading screen for eternity after your teammates argued over which agents to choose before slowly realizing that someone in the lobby must be playing on a toaster. Sure enough, one of your teammates is disconnected as soon as you load the map. What follows then?

You wait in queue for what seems like an eternity before you are finally able to load into a competitive VALORANT match. You sat on the loading screen for eternity after your teammates argued over which agents to choose before slowly realizing that someone in the lobby must be playing on a toaster. Sure enough, one of your teammates is disconnected as soon as you load the map. What follows then?

Similar to games like League of Legends, when a teammate disconnects and the match starts as a four vs. five or during the first round, VALORANT players have the choice to end the game and queue for a new one. If you need more information about VALORANT: How to remake the game, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

VALORANT: How to remake the game

By entering the command /remake at the beginning of the second round, a “remake call” may be initiated if a player disconnects at the beginning of a match—from the start of the buy phase to the conclusion of the first round. Only the second round of a map allows for remakes. All connected team members must vote in favor of remake through a voting system to restart the match from scratch.

Each player must vote “yes” for the game to be redone, for instance, if there are only four players left on the team. The game will move on to the next round even if only one player casts a “no” vote for any reason. Because a remake is not the same as a forfeit, there are almost no good reasons not to vote for it. You won’t lose any RR when you remake, and you’ll also avoid starting the game at a disadvantage. Voting “yes” whenever a remake vote is presented is always in both your and your team’s best interests.

During the second round’s buy phase, the remake vote is open. Similar to a forfeit vote, the vote will expire if it is not approved. Many players who have never seen the remake option might initially think it is a forfeit due to the similarities between a forfeit and a remake vote.

Any player who leaves a game early is penalized with a leaver penalty equal to disconnecting from the entire match, according to Riot. In Valorant, players who remake are not in any way penalized.

All players who voted will not be penalized with XP, RR, or MMR losses for the game if the vote is accepted and a new version of the game is created. In a remake scenario, the disconnected player will be the only one penalized; they will suffer a punishment equating to leaving a full match. This fine aids in discouraging people from skipping lines and wasting everyone’s time.
