On April 1st, Riot Games unveiled the “Cypher’s Revenge” trailer, which teased the fictitious “Checkmate” game mode. In Checkmate, Cypher would have faced off against an entire team in a one versus five game mode in an attempt to exact revenge for his numerous deaths in earlier VALORANT cinematics.
