TSM Appoints Stephan Cieplik as Chief Revenue Officer

North American esports organization TSM has appointed Stephen Siplick as its Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).In the role, Ciplick will lead partnership and revenue growth initiatives for the organization’s roster of eSports teams and content creators. Cieplik joins TSM following a nine-year spell as the Senior Vice President of Global Partnership Sales at City Football Group, the owners of English football club Manchester City. The appointment is the first since the organization suspended its $210m (~148m) naming rights deal with cryptocurrency exchange FTX. In November, the exchange filed for bankruptcy, resulting in its logo disappearing from TSM’s jerseys and social media channels.Despite the suspension of its naming rights deal, TSM continues to serve as one of North America’s most recognizable eSports brands. In December, the organization announced that it would host a $100,000 (~£82,000) Apex Legends tournament featuring the 20 best teams in the region.

During 2022, the organization has also strengthened its staff. In January, it named Dominique Calais as Vice President of Esports. Meanwhile, the organization in February hired Matthew Boyd as its head of research and insights and Chris Insolera as its vice president of sales.

Prior to joining TSM, Ciplik was Senior Vice President of Global Partnership Sales at City Football Group – the parent company of English football club Manchester City. During his nine years with the group, he was credited with generating over $1.15 billion in revenue through sports participation.
