Wizards of the Coast and Dave & Adams both confirmed on June 30 that the frantic hunt for a one-of-one serialized The One Ring Magic: The Gathering card within The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set had come to an end.

The One Ring serialized one-of-one foil, which could only be found in an English collector booster pack, has been pulled and graded, and it is now estimated to be worth around $2 million based on the Dave & Adams bounty.

Dave & Adams and WotC both tweeted their confirmation of The One Ring’s discovery. At the time of writing, the lucky person’s name was not made public. The $2 million bounty hunt for the MTG The One Ring has been terminated:

Following the global release of LTR, The One Ring—graded at a nine by PSA (although the grade doesn’t matter in this case—pushed product prices to absurd heights). Because it included one collector booster pack, the July 7 Gift Bundle was listed for almost $200 while collector booster boxes were going for between $480 and $550.

Many players and collectors are impatiently awaiting product price creases now that The One Ring has been found and removed. However, some MTG players might not see the price drops they were hoping for. Serialized Surge foil Box Toppers and Sol Ring foil cards are still accessible in LTR collector booster packs. On the secondary market, both are selling for anywhere from a hundred to several thousand dollars.

Earlier this week, game designer Mark Rosewater polled the MTG community to determine whether the idea of a one-of-one card should be repeated. A majority of the responses were negative due to exorbitant product prices, though there were many divided opinions.

Many are speculating whether WotC and Hasbro will try another one-of-one serialized card in a future MTG set now that The One Ring has been confirmed to have been pulled. It’s unlikely that a one-of-one hunt will happen again anytime soon, though.

Update June 30, 2:03 PM CT: Dave & Adams confirmed that a $1 million bounty was being offered by the organization soon after it was announced that The One Ring had been discovered. And if anyone was willing to pay more, they ought to get in touch with the Notable Group.
