Teamfight Tactics has unveiled a fresh microtransaction model called Treasure Realms, which takes inspiration from the popular game Genshin Impact. Here are the details on this new system.

Riot Games has seen remarkable success with its auto-battler game, Teamfight Tactics, which has been around for four years and has undergone multiple sets and mid-set expansions.

Teamfight Tactics has proven to be a lucrative venture for Riot Games, as the game’s cosmetic team consistently produces a range of visually appealing offerings such as Little Legends, Chibi Champions, and Arena skins that players are eager to purchase.

In preparation for Patch 13.10 in League of Legends, Riot Games is introducing a new microtransaction system called Treasure Realms to replace the Egg system in Teamfight Tactics. This change comes as Riot shifts its focus to Set 8.5 and seeks to offer players a fresh way to obtain TFT cosmetics. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming update.

How do TFT Treasure Realms work?

In Teamfight Tactics’ new microtransaction system called Treasure Realms, players can use a new universal currency called Treasure Tokens to purchase various “Bounties”. These bounties will offer players a range of exclusive content, including base and Mythic forms of Chibi Champions, Little Legends, and Mythic Arenas.

Players will be able to purchase Treasure Tokens at a comparable price to Eggs, with 100 Treasure Tokens costing around 390 RP. Whenever a player spends a Treasure Token, it will randomly roll an item from the Bounty. To make things quicker, players can also opt to roll 10 Treasure Tokens at once, allowing for multiple rolls at the same time.

This system may be familiar to players of Genshin Impact or the newly released Honkai Star Rail, as it bears similarity to their Wish or Warp rolling mechanics.

Rates and rewards of the system

The Bounties in Treasure Realms will be classified into three tiers of content, namely Star, Highlighted, and Standard. The Star tier will offer the rarest rewards such as Mythic Chibi Champions, Mythic Arena skins, and other exclusive items, which will be prominently displayed as the main reward in the Bounty.

Riot has outlined that the new Treasure Realms system will feature Bounties containing three tiers of rewards: Star, Highlighted, and Standard. The Star tier offers the rarest rewards such as Mythic Chibis and Mythic Arena skins, which are usually featured as the main prize in the Bounty. Highlighted tier offers some rare and older legacy rewards, including content from previous sets that were previously unavailable.

Lastly, Standard tier rewards consist mainly of previously released Little Legends. Each type of reward will have a different drop rate, with Star being the rarest, Highlighted being somewhat rare, and Standard being common. To illustrate, Riot gave an example using the Mecha Prime Zero bounty.

It’s important to note that the drop rates for these rewards may vary depending on the bounty, which means that the chances of obtaining rare loot may not be a fixed percentage.
