An era-defining Overwatch League star in Lee “Carp” Jae-hyeok is officially moving on from the game after an extraordinary and long pro career, joining the T1 Valorant roster for the 2023 season in the VCT Pacific League .The Philadelphia Fusion, for whom Carp has played in all five OWL seasons, bids for dynamic DPS starting today, as he takes on his “next challenge” of playing pro VALORANT for T1, which is owned by the same group. Popular organization and VCT partner T1 is reportedly looking to acquire Overwatch pro Lee “Carp” Jae-hyeok for their professional Valorant roster, according to online sources. Carpe is currently a part of the Philadelphia Fusion, an esports team representing the city and known for their dominant performances against competitors in the Overwatch League.

He joins two other OWL veterans on T1 in Ha “SayPlayer” Jung-woo (formerly with Florida Mayhem and The Guard Valorant) and Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom (formerly of Seoul Dynasty, Boston Uprising, and Crazy Raccoon Valorant). Carpe and Fusion sadly never won the OWL Championship during their five-year run, but they did reach the Grand Finals of the Playoffs during their inaugural season, and they helped Korea win the Overwatch World Cup in 2018. Carpe’s official Valorant debut will likely take place in February at the VCT 2023 Kickoff tournament in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

While the rumors of Carpe joining T1’s Valorant roster seem credible, fans may want to take this with a grain of salt in order to avoid disappointment.The VCT 2023 Kickoff tournament in February 2023 will officially see the newly formed T1 roster go head-to-head against their opponents. The tournament will be held in São Paulo, Brazil as a LAN event and will feature all thirty participating teams.
