The transition to Circana Books

The sixth volume of Chugong and DUBU’s Solo Leveling Korean webcomic has also managed to make a place for itself on the list. The manga has grabbed the fourth spot on the list.

NPD revamped to Circana Books in March after NPD Group and Information Resources Inc (IRI) merged in 2022. The company is known for collecting weekly point-of-sale data on print books from over 16,000 locations, including e-trailers, mass merchandisers, independent bookstores, chains, and much more.

Circana BookScan covers around 85% of the US trade print book market. The ranks on this chart are based on piece sales. Some publishers classify titles that are mostly text or art books, as graphic novels; ICv2 takes care of removing those titles from the lists.

Harta Alternative web manga magazine launching this month

According to the 103rd issue of Kadokawa’s Harta manga magazine, the company will soon launch its maiden web manga magazine, Harta Alternative. The web manga magazine will be released at the end of April, and celebrate Harta’s 10th anniversary.

Kadokawa stated the new magazine would be focused at creating a new place where manga creators can share their passion for the art. Authors who will release their manga in the new web magazine include Hinamatsuri’s Masao Ohtake, Yuunagi ni Mae, Boku no Ribbon’s Yumi Kurokawa, and SAMURA’s Oku. The magazine will come with both one-shots and serialized works.

Kadokawa’s Enterbrain brand changed its name Fellows! Manga magazine to Harta, back in 2013. The new name is derived from the Indonesian word for “treasure.” Manga that have serialized in Fellows! Or Harta are Hinamatsuri, Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, Delicious in Dungeon, A Bride’s Story, and Migi & Dali.
