Sasuke hurried back to the Astronomy Research Institute, his heart pounding in his chest. He had to get there as fast as possible; he couldn’t bear the thought of Sakura being in danger. When he arrived, he found the place in ruins. He immediately sprang into action, saving a group of prisoners from a revived dragon. As he watched Menō lead the prisoners away to safety, he saw the last of the Institute’s buildings collapse. His heart sank; had Sakura been inside? He frantically tried to sense her location, but he couldn’t detect anything. Fear consumed him as he realized that she might be trapped beneath the rubble.
Finally, he found her. Sakura was pinned beneath the wreckage, unable to free herself. She tried to gather some chakra, but the poison that Jiji had inflicted upon her prevented her from doing so. Sasuke began to heal her as best he could, working quickly to ensure that she didn’t succumb to her injuries.
When Sakura finally regained consciousness, she was relieved to see Sasuke’s face. She tried to thank him, but he was insistent that she focus on her recovery. Sasuke knew that they didn’t have much time left; they needed to stop Zansūru before he could wreak any more havoc. Zansūru had joined Jiji atop the Titan, basking in the fruition of his plans. He thanked Jiji for his help and ordered him to deliver the dragon army to the Land of Redaku’s Prime Minister once they had finished killing all of the prisoners. Jiji reminded him to keep his promise, which Zansūru assured him he would. He promised to locate the body of Jiji’s dead lover as soon as he had dealt with Sasuke.
As Zansūru and Jiji talked, they noticed Ganno trying to escape from a dragon. Before the dragon could kill him, Menō attacked, surprising Zansūru. Jiji realized that Menō was no longer under his control; Sasuke had freed him from the cursed seal. Menō was able to defeat a number of dragons one-on-one, but he was soon surrounded, and the other dragons began to attack. Just when it seemed as though Menō would be overwhelmed, Sasuke arrived, summoning his Susanoo. The dragons attacked with ferocity, but Sasuke’s Susanoo was too powerful for them. Sasuke, Menō, and Sakura fought together, their skills combining to create a fierce defense against Zansūru’s dragon army.
In the end, they emerged victorious. Zansūru was defeated, and Jiji was taken into custody. Sasuke and Sakura emerged from the battle stronger and closer than ever before. They knew that they would face many more challenges in the future, but they were ready for whatever lay ahead.
