Riot Games plans to implement several upcoming changes, some of which include nerfs to some champions that have strayed past the balanced state, to better stabilize the game’s current state just a few months before the 2023 League of Legends World Championship. All of the nerfs that Riot hinted at in yesterday’s Patch 13.16 patch preview have been pushed to the game’s PBE server today, where they will stay for testing until they make their way to live servers on August 16.

Similar to the buffs that are anticipated to come with this patch, some of these nerfs are rather strange, but the majority weaken champions that have been a little too dominant in the meta. If you need more information about Riot’s nerfs in LoL Patch 13.16 to reduce Naafiri and Rek’Sai’s burst potential, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share it with your friends.

Riot’s nerfs in LoL Patch 13.16 reduce Naafiri and Rek’Sai’s burst potential:

The Hound of a Hundred Bites has once again received nerfs that are specifically targeted at her armor, damage, and attack speed in the mid and top lanes—both of which she currently controls—despite Riot having previously scaled back the nerfs intended to address its newest champion, Naafiri, just a few weeks ago. The team is not yet considering the state of jungle Naafiri, according to Riot Raptorr, design manager for League Champs, because they want to nail down her primary role first.

Rek’Sai, another champion currently terrorizing the meta at most elos, has the burst damage and mobility to attack any opponent she chooses in a relatively safe manner. The AD ratio on her unburrowed Q has been significantly reduced at early ranks, but her mobility will remain unchanged. Tristana, a mid-laner priority pick in professional play, is currently having her base defenses slightly decreased to lessen her safety as an early-game champion.

Once more appearing on the Nerf list, Shyvana has undergone significant changes that specifically target her W and lower both its immediate and cumulative damage. Shaco joins her, who Riot is attempting to power down primarily in the support role with decreased mana regen and a flat 70 cost on his W across all ranks—which noticeably also hurts his jungle clear.

Although these adjustments are temporary and will only be on the PBE for a week, Riot and the player base’s feedback will determine whether they should be kept or changed. When Patch 13.16 launches on August 16 and no changes are made, all players can anticipate these nerfs—along with a few other modifications—to be put into effect.
