Previously in Episode 2

The second episode, Re:D Bear, explores the intricacies of goblin culture and Goburou’s leadership style in greater detail. The finding of human captives’ bodies on Day 17 sets a morbid tone, and Goburou and the older goblin officiate the funeral. A troop of elderly goblins, disguised as members of a previous generation, show up unannounced on Day 26 when the goblins are still under Goburou’s strict training. They bring provisions as well as captive humans, surprising everyone.

Goburou, who has a hard time juggling empathy with duty, defeats the leader in a fight and takes over as goblin leader, protecting the new captives.

The humans are in his care, therefore he warns the goblins from touching them. He talks to them about their situation while also giving them food and a place to stay. Even though Goburou’s might helps him strengthen his rule, internal opposition builds among the goblins as the days pass. Nevertheless, a group of goblin parents try to sneak up on the humans and do them harm, but Goburou foils their plan in no time.

Hobgoblin

He exacts vengeance on the traitors, and the leader meets his demise as a result. After that, on Day 32, Goburou goes on a hunting trip with Gobumi and Gobukichi. They catch and devour a tri-horn horse, and Goburou acquires additional abilities like Quick Healing and Triple Thrust. Out of dread, one of the human girls sleeps next to him that night, and when he wakes up the next day, he finds Gobumi there as well. While Goburou organizes the goblins into different groups based on their abilities, the goblin that accompanied them to carry their belongings, Gobe, transforms into a hobgoblin.

He continues his hunting expedition into the forest, where he engages in a brutal confrontation with a red bear. Goburou survives despite losing his left arm and suffering serious injuries; he goes on to become a rare ogre species. Returning to the goblin cave, Goburou’s transformed appearance causes his relatives to bewilder and marvel in the scenario that plays out as the credits roll.
