Red velvet is a popular South Korean girl group that debuted in 2014. They are now a five-member group and have proven to be an immense success in the K-pop world.

Their journey started with their debut single, “Happiness”, which exploded onto the K-pop scene upon its release. They quickly followed up with their first mini-album, Ice Cream Cake, and the smash hit single “Automatic”, which solidified their place in the industry.

Following their success with “Automatic”, Red Velvet released their first full-length album, The Red, which was a certified success. It sold over 500,000 copies, becoming their highest selling album to date. The album spawned the singles “Dumb Dumb” and “One of These Nights”, which further propelled the group’s success.

In 2016, Red Velvet released their first Japanese single “Sappy”, which proved to be a hit in Japan. The group has since released three Japanese mini-albums and several singles, expanding their international reach.

Recently, Red Velvet’s music has shifted towards a more upbeat and retro-inspired sound. Their single “Russian Roulette” was one of the most popular releases of 2016 and was followed by 2017’s mini-album Rookie, which spawned the hit single “Red Flavor”.
