Beat Drop is not PUBG Mobile’s first foray into music as the game has partnered with artists in the past and even released original soundtracks. In the announcement press release, Vincent Wang, Head of PUBG Mobile Publishing at Tencent Games, said that “establishing a label is a natural progression for PUBG Mobile”, given the game’s history with music partnerships.

Wang continued: “We look forward to inspiring PUBG Mobile players throughout their in-game life and beyond with an incredible and dynamic soundtrack. We look forward to sharing Beat Drop with the world.

The announcement follows the historic, first and award-winning K-pop concert that took place in-game for PUBG Mobile. The game has explored a variety of genres, collaborating with well-known DJs from around the world and trending online personalities to create its own original music with Power 4, PUBG Mobile’s virtual band.All of this has expanded the range of music styles that PUBG Mobile can create in the future for its “Beat Drop” PUBG Mobile music label.

Beat Drop will partner with artists from across the globe to create ‘industry-defining tracks with established icons’, providing players with songs that aim to enhance the PUBG Mobile experience.Esports event sponsors are also increasingly relying on music to potentiate marketing activities.Furthermore, established record labels such as Sony Music and Warner Music have also seen the potential of the gaming industry and have signed deals with European teams Giants Gaming and MAD Lions respectively in 2022.
