On February 27, The Pokemon Company International announced during its Pokemon Presents stream that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would be receiving new DLC, the latest entries in the Pokemon game franchise. The DLC is called “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.” It will feature two parts that will launch this year. “The Indigo Disk” in the winter and “The Teal Mask” will come in the fall.

The Teal Mask will come with the new legendary Pokemon Ogrepon, and the story will revolve around a school trip. As for The Indigo Disk, the player will fill in the shoes of an exchange student at Blueberry Academy and encounter the new legendary Pokemon Terapagos.

Customers who buy the DLC will receive new uniform sets. Hisuian Zoroark can be purchased as an early-purchase bonus before October 31. The stream also announced new Paradox Pokemon that will make an appearance in Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. The new Pokemon are Walking Wake, based on Suicine, and Iron Leaves, which appear as Virizion.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet will also get connectivity functionality with Pokemon Go. By sending postcards from Pokemon Go, players will be able to catch different forms of Vivillon. In return, players will be able to catch Gimmighoul in Pokemon Go once they send postcards. The games were released on Nintendo Switch across the globe on November 18.

New Pokemon anime lead characters revealed

The Pokémon Company has announced two new characters for the new anime that will soon embrace the Pokémon franchise. The new characters are named Friede and Captain Pikachu, and they are a Pokemon professor and Pokemon partner duo who will be taking on enemies alongside protagonists Liko and Roy.

The Pokemon Company’s International Taito Okiura also said that Pikachu will “continue to have a significant presence in the animated series and remain an icon for the brand.”

The new anime will make its debut on April 14 and will air on Fridays at 6:55 PM. The Pokemon Company previously mentioned in its English press release that the anime will premiere in 2023 “and beyond.”

The anime will also have Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly from the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet video games. The anime will also see appearances from the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza in its Shiny form.

Pocket Monster Mezase Pokemon Master, a 11 special episode collection to finish off Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, was released on January 13 in Japan. The Series will be the “final chapter” for Ash and Pikachu.
