In Overwatch 2, falling just before the next spawn point activates and having to make the difficult journey there while your team engages in a one-sided battle as the enemy pushes into the next point is one of the worst feelings a player can experience.

The key to winning in Overwatch is sticking together and playing as a cohesive unit, but whenever teammates are stuck at an old spawn point, it can impede their progress and plans while wasting valuable time that could have been used to take positions or launch an offensive on the targets. Fortunately, Blizzard is putting in place a new system that will alter the way that old spawns function, allowing you to quickly join your team for a counterattack. If you need more information about Overwatch 2: What are Stranded Spawns in game? then read carefully and don’t forget to share with your friends.

Players who find themselves in inactive spawn rooms won’t have to travel the entire map to reassemble with their team thanks to the new Stranded Spawns system. Instead, the old spawn room will continue to function for seven seconds, offering spawn protection and healing even though players cannot switch heroes here.

What’s more, players in the old spawn rooms have the choice to teleport to the new spawn room, which minimises travel time and enables them to engage in combat as soon as possible. This is also advantageous for heroes with limited mobility who, in contrast to those who have speed-ups and boosts, lack quick routes back to their squad.

While Blizzard has made some additions that should hopefully help you return to your team as quickly as possible, nothing has changed regarding where you will spawn in situations like this. The “old” spawn room will be active for seven seconds following the spawn swap, retaining its healing zone and preventing enemy players from entering. This feature is new to Overwatch 2. In this temporary spawn room, you won’t be able to change your hero, but you will have the option to teleport to the new spawn room with the rest of your team, which is very useful for teaming up and avoids any tiresome journeys.

This should also prevent winning teams from snowballing a match, particularly if they are doing so because they are aware that an enemy hero is stuck at the old spawn point and must travel a considerable distance to get back to the action. After the Season Four update, the new Stranded Spawn system will be added to all game modes. As a result, whether you’re trying to rank up or playing some friendly matches with friends, you’ll be teaming up much more frequently on the battlefield.
