Even though it may not be the campaign that players were promised when OW2 was first announced, Starwatch is Overwatch 2’s premier event for season four and will give players their first chance to play some PvE content. Galactic Rescue is a hybrid PvE and PvP arcade mode that allows players to submerge themselves in a different sci-fi universe with a space theme, similar to that of Star Trek or Star Wars.

Players who participate in the event can earn free cosmetics through associated challenges, including an Epic Wrecking ball skin that transforms him into the moon. The four-vs-four mode is accessible from May 9 to May 22. Galactic Rescue is a game mode that can be found in the Overwatch 2 arcade. Players can choose between the Infinite Empire or the Watchers when playing this mode. The Galactic Emperor Sigma is in charge of the Empire, and the Bonebreaker Doomfist NPC is in charge of the rebels. The 3CH-O Echo was taken prisoner by the Empire, and the rebellion’s objective is to free her.

The Horizon Lunar Colony adaptation has four capture points that players can either attack as the Watchers or defend as the Empire. While the Doomfist NPC aids the Watchers, players who support the Empire will have access to turrets that they can use to help them defend the various points. The Empire wins the game if they can keep the points until the timer runs out. On the other hand, if the Watchers can collect all four points, they triumph.

Galactic Rescue mechanics:

In Galactic Rescue, players will encounter a few unusual mechanics in addition to turrets and NPCs that appear at random. There are containers with black balls inside of them referred to as “gravity implosion barrels,” which are akin to Zarya’s Graviton Surge. They absorb nearby players into the replica of Graviton Surge when they are destroyed. Players can also revive their teammates even if they are not Mercy. Players can get close to a downed teammate to help them get off the ground, similar to how you might pick up a teammate in a battle royale game.

The game’s conclusion, meanwhile, has some extra flavor. As soon as players enter the room, gravity may change. This means that in a low-gravity environment, players can and probably will begin to bounce around, resulting in some interesting interactions.
