All gamers like their gameplay to be of the highest graphics quality, but it might not always be the best option depending on their play style. Players aiming to climb up Overwatch 2’s ranked ladder will always keep frames and overall smoothness over the quality of graphics.

Issues such as screen tearing might negatively impact the overall gaming experience of the players, hampering their performance. Screen tearing can cause difficulty for players to aim or spot opponents in their extreme forms.

Screen tearing usually happens because of inconsistencies in refresh rate or overall graphical performance, and in this article, we will be discussing a few solutions players can try out to fix them.

Increasing FPS by lowering in-game settings

Most of these issues occur when a player’s frame rate is lower than their monitor’s refresh rate. If a player is averaging 120 frames per second (fps) on a 240Hz monitor, they should lower their in-game settings to increase the frame rates.

Optimizing in-game graphical settings for the best performance will need players to set most configurations to low. Once the settings are adjusted, Overwatch 2 may look noticeably worse, but the additional frames might fix the screen tearing issue.

Turning on Vsync

Vsync is among the settings that players turn off in order to reduce the overall latency in Overwatch 2. Doing so the setting does exactly that, but it can also lead to screen tearing in several cases.

Players should go to Overwatch 2’s graphical settings and turn on Vsync to check if the trick has fixed the screen tearing on their system.

Both Nvidia and AMD offer dedicated technologies that claim to fix screen tearing. For players who have Nvidia Fast Sync or Enhanced Sync on their system, they can try using them first since they’re a better version that reduces input lag significantly.

If those two options are not present for players, they should turn on Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync to fix ther screen tearing in Overwatch 2.
