Overwatch 2 has finally been released but with has been plagued by a lot of issues preventing players from jumping right into the action and severely hindering the character’s quality of life in-game.

DDoS attacks, and long queue duration coupled with other in-game bugs made it a patchy launch that left several Overwatch 2 players for fixes. Rubberbanding and major lag issues are among the most common issues that are hampering the player experience.

Rubberbanding is something caused by high latency causing moving objects from one position to another without traveling through the intervening space. High latency can create a few issues such as lag spikes that affect the movement of things and players and gameplay.

How to fix lag issues

Though the new game had a bumpy start that has witnessed some improvement, lag and rubberbanding problems seem to be constant for players. These are some quick fixes that players can try to improve their gameplay experience.

Network reset

Resetting the network can sometimes fix any lag or high latency issues for almost all games. Unplugging and allowing the router to reset helps declutter the network and start fresh.

Update all drivers

Outdated drivers can also be a big issue for any PC’s performance and can cause rubberbanding or other lag-related issues. Players can easily access their drivers to make sure that this is not an issue. All a player has to do is:

  • Players need to right-click on Start
  • Now, open Device Manager
  • Then, find Network and Video Drivers
  • Update both drivers

DNS Flush

  • Players need to press start and search ‘CMD’
  • Now, right click the Command Prompt and select ‘run as administrator’
  • They need to type in CMD text area ‘ipconfig/release’ and press enter
  • Now, type ‘ipconfig/renew’ in the command prompt text and type enter
  • Again, type ‘ipconfig/flushdns’ and press enter
  • Now, they can exit the Command Prompt and attempt to reconnect to the game
