Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Review

If you were to ask me to sum up Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer offerings in three words, I would be the one I would choose. It is intelligent, unreliable and unattractive. It’s an unfortunate fact to take on board, but the high hopes we had for the MW2 multiplayer platform have effectively been dashed to pieces. It may have been the biggest Call of Duty title in over a decade,But ultimately, it is a broken platform that is more interested in punishing the player than in offering a clean experience.

From the moment multiplayer was offered live, fans were left amazed by the massive count of inane changes. Entire parts of the platform are missing entirely, there’s an SBMM engine that’s brutally unbearable, and there’s a quirky imbalance present in most of the game that makes it feel awkward to play. From complicated unlock paths to an unexpected perk system, and from pointless attachments to uninspired maps, there are a number of issues that need to be addressed.

As a classic first-person shooter title, Modern Warfare 2 is just about blazingly average. It’s a no-frills experience that delivers run-and-gun action at the most fundamental level, and that’s essentially the full scope of the title. If you’re able to navigate around bugs, crashes, scan-and-repair nightmares, party connection issues, and frame rate issues, then hopefully, you’ll be searching for content that’s relatively delivered.

At the moment, I am playing Modern Warfare 2 on PC, and it has been a somewhat sad and harrowing experience so far. From endlessly changing my settings to dealing with constant scan-and-repair cycles, I’ve had a pretty miserable time with the multiplayer platform since it went live. A strange imbalance exists with Modern Warfare 2 on PC, and while it never runs like it should, the drop in frame rate is a common cause for concern across the player base at large.

Unfortunately, if you probe beyond the most basic level imaginable, you’ll discover just how wrong MW2’s multiplayer really is. As I play Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer mode, I’m noticing all the issues I see creeping up on the platform.
