Minecraft 1.19 The Wild Update: New features and items revealed

The upcoming 1.19 update was announced during Minecraft Live 2021. It is also known as The Wild Update and it will be arriving at some point this year. There is a lot of new content players can expect from the update.

It is releasing for both Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Editions on PC and is currently being pushed for consoles and mobile devices, The Wild Update requires no additional hardware and will run nicely on machines that were running the game before.

What to expect from The Wild Update?

Speaking of Minecraft’s 1.19 update, there are several content implementations that players can cover. From small things such as the addition of firefly mobs to huge inclusions such as the deep dark biome and the Warden, players will get a chance to explore a lot. Besides, there will be great new blocks to use and experiment with.

It’s unclear when the full update will be pushed. Thankfully, players have been able to experience some of the update’s features early, as Mojang has provided snapshot builds. Here’s what to expect:

New Biomes and Mobs

With the update, Swamps are getting more variation, namely in the form of mangrove swamps. Made from mud blocks and bringing in mangrove trees with above-ground root systems, these new swamps bring new dimension to swamp biomes and prvovide diversity.

One of the highly anticipated debuts is of the delayed release of the deep dark biome, a shadowy biome in the deepest reaches of the game’s world. It features sculk blocks, ancient cities, and the powerful Warden mob there to protect it.

New Items

• Echo shards can be formed into a recovery compass, enables players to easily find the last spot they died so they can recover their items.
• Goat horns will have varying sounds according to the personality of the goat that dropped it.
• Music disc 5 can only be assembled from crafting together 9 disc fragments found in ancient cities.
