The Race to World First, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s premier and most prestigious esports competition, will once again feature the game’s top players. The second raid of the expansion, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, is now available. The top guilds in World of Warcraft will brace themselves for what is likely to be fierce competition in this raid tier, with the competition being more open for new entrants to move up the ranks once you look past the top two teams in the world.

The field of competitors is more evenly matched than it has been in recent races, with the exception of heavyweights Liquid and Echo, the latter of whom is vying for their fourth consecutive RWF championship. If you need more information about the Live tracker for the WoW Dragonflight Aberrus Race to the World First, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

The middle raid has featured fiercely competitive races in recent expansions, with the Battle of Dazar’alor in Battle for Azeroth and the Sanctum of Domination in Shadowlands both coming down to the wire.

A contentious change to the event’s final boss at the beginning of Dragonflight soured the Vault of the Incarnates race (likely due to time constraints imposed upon the race by the then-looming Christmas holiday). Aberrus, however, could serve as a playground for limitless tuning and power-creeping with a long summer to work with.

The nine bosses in this race are the most since Shadowlands, and the simultaneous release of the raid on all difficulties should keep the top guilds in split raids for longer than usual, as stated by WoW fans. We could see more of Aberrus than we did of other raids, despite the fact that races typically last eight to ten days. The Sepulcher of the First One’s race in March of last year, which lasted 19 days, was the longest Race to World First in recent memory.

Updates on the Aberrus Race to World First

Friday, May 12

  • 4:05 pm CT – As soon as Echo joined the race, they caught up to Liquid and obtained the second Rashok kill in history. For the first time since the race started, the two favorites are at the top of the standings, and they might remain there until the finish.
  • 12:26 pm CT – As soon as Liquid began their raiding day, Rashok was destroyed. They are the first team in the entire world to reach five out of nine.
  • 9:40 am CT – Ten teams are at the four-of-nine mark to begin day four of the competition, and the Forgotten Experiments are clearly in the rearview. Liquid joined the race last night and quickly sailed through the raid’s first four bosses in just eight total pulls. The group has a less-than-one-percent pull on Rashok and is prepared to eliminate the leader at some point today.

Thursday, May 11

  • 7:02 pm CT – Top guilds have joined the competition, and European stalwarts FatSharkYes were the first to defeat the Forgotten Experiments and advance to fourth place in the standings. A short while later, BDG of North America followed them. On Rashok, the Elder, both teams are currently making progress.
  • 2:26 pm CT –The race has temporarily come to a halt. Many of the underdog guilds have encountered obstacles in their progress after the event’s fast start, while the top contenders are still farming gear in split raids and Mythic+ dungeons. Though we anticipate the favorites to breeze through the raid’s opening bosses given the amount of gear they have acquired through splits, the leaderboard should change significantly once they decide to pull the trigger and begin making Mythic progression.
  • 10:05 am CT – The three-of-nine point appears to be the first significant obstacle for the field’s underdogs going into day three of the race. This milestone has been reached by seventeen guilds, and the Forgotten Experiments appear to be a barrier. The groups that have made the most progress are Revolutionist, Nerd Crew, and Nascent; a kill on the fourth boss may occur today.

Wednesday, May 10

  • 4:39 pm CT – With Revolutionist and Honolulu joining Nerd Crew at the three-of-nine mark, more teams have made significant progress. The top 10 currently consists entirely of underdogs, all of whom are getting their chance to shine here in the early stages of the race. The race’s heavy favorites will likely enter Mythic at some point in the upcoming 24 to 48 hours.
  • 8:28 am CT – Several North American teams advanced through the raid over the course of the night as European servers came online. Right now, Kazzara has been defeated by eight guilds.

Tuesday, May 9

  • 10:21 pm CT  On Mythic difficulty, a third team, Unleashed, defeated Aberrus’s first boss. The top guilds in the world are still leading split raids before they reach the Mythic level.
  • 10:12 pm CT – Deep underdog guild Nerd Crew has recently claimed two consecutive world-first victories on the Assault of the Zaqali and the Amalgamation Chamber. The only two guilds in the world to have defeated a Mythic boss at this time are Nerd Crew and The Early Shift, who have each cleared a third of the raid’s bosses and established a commanding two-boss lead over the other.
  • 2:51 pm CT – The Early Shift, who previously stole the opening boss of the Sepulcher of the First One’s race in March, have done it again just a few hours after servers went online. In just 23 attempts, they managed to defeat Kazzara, Aberrus’ first boss.
