It’s celebration time for blinks fans of the K-pop girl band Blackpink. Just as their K-pop girl band enjoying their seventh anniversary this week, it was also declared that one of the members, Lisa, will be going into the Asian Hall of Fame. Lisa Is Going Into the Asian Hall Of Fame.
Bought up in Thailand, Lisa’s full name is Lalisa Manoban. The 26-year-old K-pop idol will be going along with other big stars, like Freddie Mercury from Queen and Johnny Cash, in an induction ceremony that will be happening on October 21, at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, US.
The Asian Hall of Fame is a legacy platform that was built in 2004. The award isn’t just about the musicians. It is the world’s only award that invites Asians from all disciplines and walks of life, like businessmen and women, artists, and more.
Seven years before, Blackpink debuted as a K-pop group. They have then become one of the well-known girl groups of the genre. Comes under the South Korean label YG Entertainment, the group is made up of four members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa,
The K-pop group has many times made history. From becoming the first K-pop girl group to performing at the Coachella, the globally well-known annual music festival, but were also the first Asian act to headline the festival.

They’ve also smashed various Guinness World Records and Billboard charts records. In 2022, the group made their debut in the Billboard 200, with their album Born Pink.
With more than 90.3 million subscribers, Blackpink is known for being the most-subscribed artist on YouTube in the world. Prior week, their 2018 music video crossed 2.1 billion views on YouTube, and becomes the first K-pop video to do this.
The group also has a documentary available on Netflix UAE. The documentary film is directed by Korean–American documentary film director and producer, Caroline Suh. It narrates the story of Blackpink as bandmates and as individuals and tells their rise to fame story.
Right now, on their Born Pink World Tour, the headlines of Jennie Kim leaving BLACKPINK caught attention after she made her acting debut in the much talked-about HBO series The Idol. The show got mixed reactions, but Jennie’s acting skills were highly praised. Since her appearance on the show, the word on the street has been that she is going to end her father contract.

While other one said on Weibo “Blackpink Jennie will not be renewing her exclusive contract with YG Entertainment. The company is still in discussions with Lisa, but Lisa has intentions to leave. Rose is confirmed to sign on with Black Label. Jisoo will continue with YG Entertainment or sign with Black Label.”
It’s time to look forward for the official confirmation to come from the agency or the idols, fans don’t think Jennie will leave YG Entertainment as she has a great relation with them. Fans have been wishing that BLACKPINK never disband over the agency fiasco.
YG Entertainment has given a statement “We are in discussions on contract renewals.” For those who don’t know, BLACKPINK’S contract with YG Entertainment going to end in August 2023.
