5. Young Ryze

The Young Ryze skin is the only one that depicts the Rune Mage Ryze in his human form. Before the game’s global release on October 27, 2009, those who pre-ordered the League of Legends Retail Collector’s Edition received this skin. This skin has never been sold in a store, just like Black Alistar.

Young Ryze shows the mage in his early years, about a thousand years before he developed into the accomplished magician we know today. Ryze, a mage apprentice, wears his hair in a man bun with a neat mohawk. Ryze has always carried his enormous, recognizable scroll on his back, even as a child.

4. Black Alistar

As a thank-you for purchasing the game, Black Alistar skin was distributed to early League of Legends players. This skin, which has never been available for purchase, is exclusive to players who pre-ordered the League of Legends Digital Collector’s Edition in 2009. The minotaur is depicted in Black Alistar skin with complementary gold accents and a coal-black skin tone. He has also had his hair colored golden.

3. King Rammus

This skin is one of the most uncommon in League of Legends because it was only given to players who took part in the closed beta testing from April to October 2009. The champion is presented in yellow and green colors with an accompanying crown effect in his Defensive Ball Curl ability. This skin appears to be heavily influenced by another well-known spiked video game character.

2. Riot Squad Singed

Considering their rarity, the top two skins on this list are in a class by themselves and were only distributed at early LoL conventions. Gamescom 2010 attendees received a redemption code for Riot Squad Singed from roving Riot Games staffers who distributed the game. It was also distributed at a few other gaming events in 2011 and was momentarily made available in the League of Legends client store at PAX Prime.

Rogue Squad The Mad Chemist is depicted by Singed wearing items of clothing and accessories bearing the 2011 Riot Games logo. Singed has the traditional company logo on his Poison Gas and Empowered Bulwark in addition to his suit. The latter has been altered into a substantial riot shield that even sports Riot’s distinctive fist logo on top.

1. PAX Twisted Fate and PAX Jax

Twisted Fate (TF) and Jax are most likely the game’s rarest skins, having been distributed 11 years ago during League of Legends’ inaugural event at PAX 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Twisted Fate was a gift to the first 20,000 PAX visitors and has never been sold in the LoL store. The redemption for these skins was shut down in 2014, so even if you do manage to find an unused code somewhere, you won’t be able to use it.

Our favorite Card Master is depicted in PAX Twisted Fate wearing a stylish all-black outfit with silver and blue accents. The outer portion of his cape displays the PAX 2009 event logo. The following year, during PAX East 2010, PAX Prime 2010, and PAX East 2011, PAX Jax was distributed. He is dressed in a robe of the same colors, yellow and blue.
