Lost in what appears to be a cave, a young Ashiro realizes she must recall something crucial. Out of nowhere, hundreds of lifeless bodies materialize, shocking her to tears. But then a younger Kafka shows in and tells the girl to leave the dead and find a place with light and her cat.

She is afraid she will forget something crucial, therefore she is reluctant to leave. As Kafka is about to persuade Ashiro, her tiger, Bakko, grabs hold of her. The beast battles monster #9 in real life, but it is completely ineffective. The animal begins to regenerate, much to #9’s surprise, after shot. That the tiger was unable to transform into a monster is, thus, news to the enemy.

The bodies, Ashiro knows, are those of the heroes who gave their lives to save her. That empowers her to get up and confront the imposter Kafka, who she shoots with a gun she manifests. But that exacerbates the problem. Even though no one, not even #9, could stop it, Kafka, who is dying, says that Isao also fought. Horrifying monsters suddenly start popping up all over the place.
