Previously in Chapter 19

“Dark Knight” is the title of Chapter 19 in Kagurabachi. A listless child, overcome with grief at the loss of his pet grasshopper five years ago, begins the story while sitting in a cafe.

As he loses himself in thought, he accidentally drops his drink. Even the chapter summary lightly insults him by calling him an “idiot.” When the youngster looks out the window after this, he sees two men fighting.

Those two are, in fact, Chihiro and Sojo, as revealed in chapter 19 of Kagurabachi. Despite the altered viewpoint, the scene depicts the initial confrontation between the two.

A bolt of lightning catches the boy’s eye as the conflict develops. Even if he hears words like “lightning rod,” he has no idea what they imply. But what really takes him by surprise is Chihiro’s unwavering determination in the face of Sojo’s lightning strike.

The protagonist’s dogged gaze leads the child to mistake him for a Samurai. Chapter 19 of Kagurabachi then jumps ahead seven days to November 1, just in time for the Rakuza Ichi auction.

After Chihiro’s heroics set his “apathetic soul” ablaze, the same lad from the opening scenes rescues a female from a Yakuza gang. He assists the girl in escaping, but the thugs end up capturing him instead.

They bring the youngster to their base, where the boss asks about the girl. Chapter 19 for Kagurabachi states that these thugs commit horrible crimes like kidnapping. When the boy lets the girl go, one of them questions his motives.

Yakuza

Unnamed as he is, the youngster admits he aspired to emulate the character (Chihiro) he encountered in a dream. The spoilers for Chapter 19 of Kagurabachi reveal that the thugs then kick and pin the boy to the floor.

Isho, though, he gets to his feet and chants. An ominous flare appears over his left eye, yet it serves no purpose. They think it’s funny and insult him as an idiot among the Yakuza. Someone glances out the window and spots a goldfish swimming by just then.

The result is widespread panic as people scramble to find a solution. Nevertheless, Chihiro emerges from the shadows and uses his Kuro to eliminate everyone. According to chapter 19 of Kagurabachi, Chihiro has been busy slaying gangsters recently.

Sojo did not have Shinuichi, as revealed in a conversation between Shiba and Chihiro’s flashback. He may have been the “exhibitor,” but the sword actually belonged to someone else.

Additionally, Shiba discloses that other than a few study materials, there is little value in Sojo’s deserted warehouse. So, it turns out the ex-Cloud Gouger user wasn’t involved in the auction at all.
