This man, like Jaekyung in the last chapter, may have dishonorable motivations. The whole back issue was merely a pretext for Jaekyung to spend time with Doc, he realizes. This is a recurring plot point, but unfortunately, it’s also the case with the majority of manhwa in this style. A hapless beta bottom who had no choice but to accept the alpha leader’s orders in a hostile male-dominated environment. This series rarely uses flashbacks, but Chapter 33 of Jinx did just that. Here, we see Jaekyung and Heesung chatting it up over a few drinks about their Jinx at a local watering hole. The bartender appeared unfazed, as if he had witnessed such antics before.
Heesung explained that Jaekyung was only present because his previous captive managed to flee. He crashed it into the bar; however, Jaekyung maintained her composure, and Jinx, a stunning blonde, got him a drink. While gulping down his soda, Jaekyung made an analogy between Heesung and a garbage can, claiming that Heesung was worse because he discarded his whenever he was bored.
They sat there in silence, drinking, until some new individuals came and broke the tension. Heesung saw this as a cue to start picking out his next victim among the men who had just entered the bar. Before he left, he indicated that he was interested in hearing more from Jaekyung, seeing as how they share an agency.
In Chapter 34 of Jinx, we see Kim Dan caring for Heesung, who is sickly attentive to the exhausted Doc. Why is Doctor Drowsy? Well, while visiting Heesung, Jaekyung decided to extract every last drop of useful information from Doc.
Earlier, after Jaekyung had purportedly harmed himself, he listened to the K-Pop star’s album. This is all a ploy to win Kim Dan over to his side. The MMA fighter may use a more direct strategy, but his opponent this time is a well-known name in the sport. Therefore, he can only take on Heesung through the use of proxies and third parties.
