It Takes Two couch co op: Can you play on same console?

Launched in early 2021, It Takes Two is a new game for the developers of A Way Out. The game takes players through the adventure of a couple who are facing problems after being turned into their daughter’s toys.

Unlike most games, it’s a two-player game, where one player is designated to play the other half of the couple. So is it possible to play the game on the same console?

More and more games are offering ways to finish the campaign with their friends, creating unique multiplayer experiences. However, many of these games are not couch co-op games, which means players will require two different consoles and online accounts to enjoy with friends.

While it’s good for long-distance friendships and connecting with others from the comfort of their homes, it doesn’t fit the bill for roommates or family members to enjoy together. Thankfully, players can enjoy It Takes Two from their homes as it is a couch co-op title.

To activate the split-screen mode, all players have to do is select “Play Locally” when starting the game and connect a second controller to their console. Players and their friends can work through the minigames on the same screen thanks to this co-op feature.

Can ‘It Takes Two’ be played as a single player?

Unfortunately, to play this game, players will need a friend, as it can only be played with two players. That said, if players are struggling to get someone else to play with them, they should convey to them that they don’t need to buy the game and won’t need to come over to their place to finish the campaign.

When players buy the game, it comes with a friend pass that enables players to send a copy of the game to a friend without any additional cost. This means, there are downsides to this feature. Players can only send a copy of the game to a friend who is using the same console as the player, as the game doesn’t support cross-platform compatibility.
