There is a huge pool of maps that can be played in other modes like Assault, Deathmatch and various custom games, but we are not going to list them all to keep things simple. Now, as of early 2023, there is no more map rotation for Overwatch 2. Each map will be playable, making the game feel new with each map. You’ll be less likely to get the same map twice since there’s a ton more in the pool.

The full list of maps is close to 40, but many of these are minor variations or deathmatch-specific matches that can only be played in custom games. You can go into the Custom Games menu and filter by map for a full view of all playing spaces. As mentioned earlier, we have thirteen maps from the original Overwatch whose nuanced versions are present in Overwatch 2. Below you will find their names:
Overwatch 2’s new game mode, Push, has completely changed Assault. Don’t expect to see maps like Hanamura, Volskaya Industries, or Temple of Anubis until at least the PvE portion of the game is released, if not longer. In each subsequent season, Blizzard would rotate some maps out of the map pool and bring back others that had previously been taken out of rotation. As the developers keep rotating the maps in and out, they will keep improving and improving them.
So, for example, when Rialto returns in season two, players will see a few spots where Blizzard has added extra cover, which should help the map play better in 5v5 environments with less shield. For players who don’t currently want to play a map in map rotation, jump into a custom game or the occasional Arcade mode.
