The International Esports Federation (IESF) has announced a partnership with FitGMR, an esports and gaming performance company.The deal closes with both parties conducting activities and workshops focused on health and wellness for athletes competing at the 2022 World Esports Championships Finals in Bali, Indonesia.Specifically, all teams will be educated on the ‘five pillars of fitness’, according to FitGMR. These are physical maintenance, mental conditioning, nutrition, sleep and lifestyle. The 2022 WE Championships will take place from 1 December to 12 December and will feature prize pools of $100,000 (⁓£82,700) across all events. Over 100 participating nations will compete against each other through a variety of popular eSports titles, including CS:GO, PUBG, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Dota 2.Through the partnership with FitGMR, IESF is also looking to strengthen its abilities to educate e-sports athletes and provide them with the resources they need to succeed.

In this sequence, IESF signed a contract with ITTI Hi Tech Institute to provide four full scholarships for World Esports Championship athletes.IESF President Vlad Marinescu commented on the news: “The IESF is delighted to be working with FitGMR to create the most successful and engaging World Esports Championship Finals ever.

The Mental Conditioning Workshop will show esports athletes how to relax their minds through various mindfulness practices and how they can help with focus, decision making, mental clarity and concentration. Just before the closing ceremony, IESF and FitGMR will wrap things up with a FitGMR All-in-One Workshop, where they’ll be teaching the World Esports family how they can “FIitGMR” at home.“The well-being of athletes is a top priority for IESF, and we always strive to provide the ultimate environment for esports athletes to perform at their best. We look forward to collaborating with FitGMR on many more impactful activities, and we can’t wait to begin this partnership in Bali!”

After months of preparation and exciting qualifying rounds, the WE Championship Finals officially begins on Friday, 1 December. This year is going to be the biggest, most inclusive and most geographically diverse edition ever. This will include many new and exciting opportunities for athletes, such as the groundbreaking activities planned with FitGMR.
