Hogwarts Legacy has now made over $1 billion by selling 15 million copies, and that number is believe to prominently increase as the game becomes accessible on previous-generation platforms. Hogwarts Legacy sold 15 million copies,made over $1 billion!

Hogwarts Legacy is a 2023 action game which have a role-playing theme and the game is made by Avalanche Software and launched by Warner Bros. Games under its Portkey Games label. The game is themed in the Wizarding World universe, showing the world in the late 1800s, a century before the events chronicled in the Harry Potter novels. The gamer regulates a student enrolled in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who learns to use an array of magical capabilities and items. With the help of fellow students and professors, the main hero starts a journey to solve an ancient mystery that has long been hidden within the wizarding world.

Discovery CEO David Zaslav stated “Hogwarts Legacy has amassed more than $1 billion in retail sales and over 15 million units sold worldwide to date, and today the team Hogwarts Legacy – Official ‘Live the Unwritten’ Traileris launching the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.”

As the sales surpassed 15 million, Hogwarts Legacy becomes fifth $1 billion-plus gaming franchise, putting it in a stable with LEGO, DC, Mortal Kombat, and Game of Thrones.

But sales are not going to stop here , it’s believe to keep growing. Hogwarts Legacy launched on PS4 and Xbox One, a Switch version will also come in July. JB Perrette, CEO of global streaming and games at WB Discovery, stated during the earnings call that the Switch version was important for sales.

“We see that as probably a much bigger install base and a fan base,” he said, noting that Nintendo has a huge install base in Japan, where Harry Potter “skews very strongly in terms of popularity”.

“We see a much bigger upside probably from that release, certainly than the [PS5 and Xbox Series release]” he said.

Hogwarts Legacy was priorly the best-selling game of February 2023, and stays the highest seller of the year so far. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is belive to give it tough competition, but with the current-gen and Switch l it looks like that Hogwarts Legacy will prove to be the year’s biggest game. Also, the popularity is directly opposing to the controversy revolving around Hogwarts Legacy and the author of the original Harry Potter books, J.K Rowling.

Also, now a new patch that contains a new arachnophobia mode and a number of bug fixes is now available.
