Players can now access League of Legends Arena, and a meta has already developed with champions deemed either painfully weak or too strong. As a result, the balance team at Riot Games released a “micropatch” on July 21 that targeted the worst offenders and provided some much-needed support to others.

League game designer Madness Heroo provided a detailed breakdown of the changes in a post on Twitter. He said special changes to the Arena game mode are on the way, but in the interim, the team will use ARAM modifications to champions. The only champion improvements for this patch were given to Lux and Zoe, who received a 15 percent total boost to their AP ratios. Seven other champions received nerfs due to their excessive strength in the game mode. To bring Annie, Heimerdinger, Illaoi, Kayle, Kayn, Shaco, and Taric back into line with the rest of the League roster, various modifications have been made.

The bulk of the nerfs were placed on Taric and Shaco. While the duration of Jack in the Box’s Fear no longer scales at higher ranks, Shaco’s Q Deceive has a noticeably longer cooldown. Both the additional armor provided by Taric’s W, Bastion, and the damage he deals via his passive have been reduced by half.

Kayle (10% less outgoing damage), Heimerdinger (damage from turrets reduced), and Kayn all received heavy nerfs (incoming damage increased). Madness Heroo concluded by saying, “We have other things on our radar for 13.15, such as strong bruisers like Jax and Mundo, [a] followup to Rageblade, and the power of marksman plus enchanter pairings at high skill levels. The team will monitor the weekend before securing more changes for Patch 13.15.
