David Beckham-backed British esports organization Guild Esports has joined hands with sports specialist label Little Dot Sport from London-based company Little Dot Studios to enhance its channel management and ‘vertical video production’.The deal will see Little Dot Sport using its TikTok expertise to strategically build Guild Esports into a brand and larger presence on the vertical-video platform, engaging its professional players and content creators.While Guild will be Little Dot’s first eSports partner, the label is no stranger to sports entertainment brands, having previously worked with more than 30 well-known clients. After a thorough social analysis, the short video platform TikTok was specifically identified as the first platform focus of the organization.

Guild’s partnership with Little Dot adds to an already very busy year for the organization. Since the start of 2022, the Guild has announced or renewed eight new partnerships, namely its multi-faceted Sky UK partnership, Samsung expansion and its own eSports college in partnership with SCL Education.The Guild also went through a couple of rounds of structural changes in March and November this year. The latter saw the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The organization also axed 15 staff earlier this year after the guild recorded losses of almost £5m in a six-month period.

Jason Fungus, the former head of TikTok’s gaming unit, launched a blockchain gaming startup named Meta0 that aims to connect different metaverses using a white-label application programming interface and software development kit. According to Reuters, Fung is now Meta0’s CEO and will focus on expanding its ecosystem to include game developers, channel partners and L1/L2 blockchains running on Meta0 as layer-0 protocols.
