Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) has become a legendary game that has captivated players across multiple platforms and generations. Originally released in 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3, it made its way to PS4, Xbox One, and finally PC. However, the disparity between the updates and features available on the latest console versions and the PC version has left PC players feeling confused and frustrated. In this article, we will explore the exclusive features added to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports, the content missing in the PC version, and why the PC port of GTA V deserves these updates.

The Three Console Generations of GTA Online

GTA Online is an exceptional online video game that has spanned three console generations, as well as the PC platform. It has evolved and improved over time, allowing players to transfer their characters from one console to another. While these versions of the game share many similarities, the differences have become more apparent since the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports.

Exclusive Features for Next-Gen Consoles

In March 2022, Rockstar launched the next-gen versions of GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. These versions introduced new ray-tracing visual options, an immersive career builder intro, faster cars, and exciting time trials through Hao’s Special Workshop. Unfortunately, none of these features were added to the PC version of the game, leaving PC players without access to the enhanced gameplay experience enjoyed by their console counterparts.

The Introduction of GTA+ Subscription Service

Shortly after the release of the next-gen console ports, Rockstar introduced GTA+, a paid subscription service that offers monthly bonuses and rewards to players. Additionally, Rockstar added the Vinewood Car Club, allowing players to test drive and purchase exclusive vehicles at discounted prices. However, both GTA+ and the Vinewood Car Club are limited to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game. PC players are once again left out, unable to enjoy these additional benefits and content.

Rockstar’s commitment to enhancing the gameplay experience continued with the addition of a smart career progress menu in a recent GTA Online update. This menu enables players to easily track their progress in the massive open-world game, complete tasks, and challenges to earn in-game cash and valuable items. Regrettably, this highly appreciated feature has not been included in the PC version, denying PC players the opportunity to conveniently manage their achievements and reap the rewards.

The Unfortunate Neglect of the PC Version

While Rockstar does release most of the new content for each GTA Online update on the PC and older console versions, the glaring omission of features in the PC port raises questions. The PC platform is known for its superior power, speed, and flexibility compared to consoles. Therefore, it is perplexing that the PC version does not receive the same level of attention and updates as the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports.

The Frustration of PC Players

It comes as no surprise that frustrated PC players may speculate about the demise of GTA Online on PC. The perceived lack of investment in the PC version compared to the latest console ports fuels these concerns. Many loyal players have dedicated years of their time to the PC version and feel let down by the disparity in updates and exclusive content. It is disheartening for them to witness the game they love evolving on consoles while their version remains stagnant.
