Finally, after a long wait, Square Enix has confirmed that FF7 Remake will be coming to Steam today, June 17. After several years of development, the studio finally released Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS4 in April 2020. More than a year later it was finally released for other platforms.

After requests of many players, the title was released for PC in late 2021 as an Epic Games Store exclusive. And despite the game’s disappointing PC launch, franchise faithful continue to wait to get their hands on a Steam version. The wait for the game’s arrival on Steam is finally coming to an end.

FF7 Remake’s Steam release

During Square Enix‘s celebratory Final Fantasy 7 25th anniversary stream, it was confirmed that the game’s Integrade will imminently come to Steam. PC players on Steam can start checking out the enhanced version of Midgar starting today, June 17, Square Enix said when the broadcast started.

Additionally, Square Enix said that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade’s rollout on Steam will be capable of fully supporting Valve’s Steam Deck device, which means players can take Cloud and Co. anywhere.

While this news will surely excite the numerous Final Fantasy players, one platform, in particular, lies in uncertainty – Xbox. There’s no word whether or not the publisher plans to deploy the remake on the Microsoft-owned Xbox consoles.

At the very least, FF7 fans now have an idea of the timeline for when the second part of the remake saga will arrive in the market. Square Enix announced during the stream that Part 2 is currently on the right path for a PS5 release in winter 2023.
