  • Step 3: When the Windows File Explorer opens, navigate to the ‘Game’ folder and locate the’start protected game’ executable file, which you should rename to’start protected game primary.’
  • Step 4: Locate the ‘eldenring’ executable file and duplicate it, renaming it’start protected game’.
  • Step 5: Once all of this has been completed, launch the game from the Steam client, and players can enjoy the game in offline mode.

To restore its original state, players can simply return to the containing folder and delete the’start protected game’ file before renaming the’start protected game primary’ file to its original name.

The Easy Anti-Cheat can be easily reinstalled by using Steam’s file integrity checker, and the steps are as follows:

  • Step 1: Launch Steam and search for the game in the library. Right-click on it to open the extended menu, then select ‘Properties.’
  • Step 2: When the new menu appears, navigate to the ‘Local Files’ section and select ‘Verify integrity of game files’ to launch the checker. This will take some time, and it may be necessary to reinstall or resolve any EAC-related issues.

Method 3: Manually reinstalling or downloading EAC

The final method on the list is to reinstall the anti-cheat system, which can produce the best results and permanently solve the problem. The following are the steps that users should take to reinstall the game:

  • Step 1: Open the ‘Game’ folder in Elden Ring’s containing folder (as mentioned in Method 1).
  • Step 2: In the “Game” folder, locate and open the ‘EasyAntiCheat’ folder.
  • Step 3: Right-click the ‘easyanticheat eos setup’ file inside the folder and select Run as Administrator. When it opens, select’repair’ or ‘install’ to reinstall or repair the EAC files on the system.

This way, players can easily resolve or avoid the issue, allowing them to fully enjoy the game.
