Modern Warfare 3, Activision’s next Call of Duty sequel, will be a full-priced release, despite being listed as an add-on on Steam. While Steam’s listing may seem that the game is only a minor DLC update, its label has everything to do with the CoD HQ application. MW3 will be a subset of a collection of CoD titles available through the HQ launcher rather than DLC for Modern Warfare 2 (2022). According to Twitter page CharlieIntel, the game will be a full-fledged product with no “upgrade price.”

According to a spokeswoman, MW3 will be priced at USD 70 at launch and will be part of the new system in which all upcoming CoD titles will be available as an add-on to the HQ launcher. This means that players will most likely have to use a single application to access the numerous Call of Duty titles in Acitivison’s library.

Because there is no upgrade fee, we are unlikely to see any additional versions apart from MW3’s “premium release.” Of course, there’s still time for this to alter before the release. DMZ has been a big hit as a game mode, primarily mimicking Escape from Tarkov. Not only did the game’s existing player base fall in love with it, but veterans who had left the band returned to try it out, with some staying to play more of it. Warzone’s original version lasted two years before being replaced by Warzone 2, both of which were free-to-play titles.DMZ was released in November 2022, so it should be at least another year before it is updated.

Fans of the series will be able to play a variety of returning game types, including the popular Tarkov-esque DMZ. As it turns out, MW3 will be released on November 10, 2023. It will be available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. We’ll just have to wait and see if anything changes before the mid-November release.
