On July 28, 2022, at 7 PM IST, the game was abruptly removed. According to a statement released by Google, they were required to comply with government requests to remove the game from their store. A similar directive was given to the App Store. It was deleted from there a short time after the game was taken down from the PlayStore.

It was mysteriously taken off from the Google Play Store, just like when Free Fire was prohibited. The game was declared illegal by the Indian government a few days later. It is also to be noted that registrations for BGIS 2022 were about to start from today.

The famous battle royale game is just a year old and has been gathering a lot of eyeballs for the kind of esports platform it has been providing. Not too long ago, players were enjoying the LAN matches that were taking place. A lot of hype had been created for Team SouL to represent India in the PUBG Mobile World Invitational. However, all of this could be going for a toss soon, if the game doesn’t make a return soon to the Google Play Store.

Since the game is suspended in the country for now, downloading the APK for now is not possible. If you visit BGMI’s website and try to click on the download AOS, you will be taken to the Google PlayStore page and you will see “We’re sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server.”
