Recap of the Previous Chapter of Blue Lock

Kunigami swoops in to take the ball from the Italy Ubers, sending their defense into a tailspin. Peron tries to stop Kunigami, but Kunigami out-dribbles him and scores. Isagi sees Kunigami advancing on the goal and realizes he’s trying to go it alone, but he also knows that Kunigami can’t possibly beat the three defenders charging right at him. Isagi is aware that if he teamed up with Kunigami, they would have no trouble scoring, but Kunigami isn’t the kind to simply pass the ball when requested. After all, he is an egotist.

Niko vs Isagi

When Kunigami gets tangled up within the box, Isagi decides to seize the ball from him. Using his meta vision, Isagi makes educated guesses about the course of the game and formulates a general strategy for winning. Niko, armed with his newfound Meta Vision, begins to keep tabs on Isagi as well, hoping to foil his plot. Niko studies Isagi’s strategy and dashes to the precise location where he expects to find the ball. When he gets there, Kunigami is already there, having just broken through Italy’s fortifications. The odds of winning are equal, Ubers, but then something unexpected occurs.

Raichi to rescue?

Despite Niko’s best meta-vision efforts, he gets blocked by a charging Raichi. Raichi, the Duel King, comes to the rescue. Niko becomes befuddled because he fails to notice Raichi sneaking up on him. Isagi informs Niko that he trusted his limited meta-vision too far.

Niko was so preoccupied with Isagi and the ball that he completely missed the move by Raichi to get behind him. Isagi took advantage of Niko’s lack of perfect meta-vision by moving in a way that obscured even more of the battlefield from his view so that he failed to see Raichi, whom he might have easily defeated. When two meta-visions collided, Isagi came out on top.

Aiku

Isagi swoops in and grabs the ball while criticizing Niko’s information-gathering techniques as “second rate.” When Raichi’s spotlight moment is stolen by Isagi, he becomes enraged. Moving forward, he encounters only defenders as he nears the goal. Kurona teams up with Isagi for help and the two enter the penalty area, but the dynamic duo is abruptly halted by Aiku. It’s practically impossible for someone without meta-vision to predict Isagi’s motions, thus the fact that Aiku did so has left him perplexed. Aiku mocks Isagi by asking them to join the game at an expert level. Isagi keeps his cool and uses his lefty direct as his backup weapon.

Even though Aiku’s left foot is weaker than his right, he readily sees through Isagi’s strategy. He charges headfirst for the ball, destroying Isagi’s carefully laid plans as if he were aware of them from the start. Even Isagi is intimidated by that kind of intense vitality. Yukimiya uses the space created by Isagi to rush into the box, where he immediately signals to his teammate to pass the ball.
