The team finished 9th in LEC 2021 Spring, 7-8th in LEC 2021 Summer, 10th in LEC 2022 Spring, and 9th in LEC 2022 Summer.Despite the disappointing result of the final split, Astralis decided to keep its core within the organization and make changes for the top half of the map. Last split, Wizxcssy and Xerx were the top laners and junglers of the lineup but Finn and 113 will replace them in the upcoming LEC season.

As mentioned, Finn will take over as the top laner. The Swedish player began playing professionally under the Magistra roof and went on to be a player on nine different teams before signing a contract with Rogue to compete in the LEC. He participated in Worlds 2022 with his team and then signed with Counter Logic Gaming. After a year in North America, Finn made his return to Europe with EXCEL. This year he will be a part of the Astralis roster.

The new jungler of the organization is the Turkish youth player 113. He started his career in Turkey with Supermassive Academy. After his success with the team and insane solo queue performance, 113 was acquired by Giants Gaming. He spent last season with Carmine Corp alongside names like Cabochard and Rekkles and won the EU Masters 2022 spring trophy. He recently parted ways with the organization to join Astralis.

THE ORIGINAL CORE REMAINS

Aside from the upper half of the map, the rest of the 2022 Summer Split roster will remain within the organization. German mid laner Dejor, Danish marksman Kobe and South Korean support Jonghoon will remain with the team. Looking at last year’s roster, only Wizziksesi and Xerxes are not going to be a part of the team. Dajor, Kobbe, and Jeonghoon had good individual performances last year but they failed to show it as a team.Astralis lacked chemistry last year and that is why they failed to qualify for the playoffs.

On another note, it has not made it to the playoff stages since the organization’s inception. Astralis’ success has certainly not been optimal in the European LoL eSports world. However, the organization still tries to build the best roster possible by combining talented players to be successful on the field. The new Astralis roster will be competing against some of the best LoL players as the competition in Europe is fierce. With their combination of youth and experienced players, Astralis could be a real threat if they can build up the necessary chemistry. All players are very talented on an individual level but their communication and chemistry will determine their performance in the upcoming LEC season.
