The Battle Sage isn’t as strong on paper as she once was, but that just makes it more important for players who are playing the healer bravely to use more clever strategies. One player has discovered a really special location now that Bind is back in the VALORANT map pool. One of the new elements of the Bind rework is the vent opening installed on the B site, which makes a small opening through which utility and abilities can be thrown between the B site and B side hall.

Although the objective of this opening isn’t for players to hold angles, Sage is still capable of doing so, as one player demonstrated on May 13 in a Reddit post. A Battle Sage’s ideal tool is VALORANT player’s Bind wall:

Sage can peek into B side hall by positioning the wall on the corner of the B site tube closest to the vent opening, completely off-guarding defenders about to head into B elbow with a nearly untradeable angle. Reyna and Jett walk into the same angle in the clip above and get tapped because the first Raze to die is obviously unaware of how they were killed.

Despite how playful this is, it’s important to remember that Sage’s wall here works so well because she is surrounded by teammates who are performing effective post-plant setups. The Brimstone smoke acts as cover in this scenario, allowing Sage to erect the aggressive wall before the retakers figure it out, despite the fact that Sage’s wall is usually a great ability to hold off retakers coming from defender spawn.

Although an updrafting Jett with its knives out could theoretically use this open vent, only Sage can actually access this angle. Sage could, however, use the wall to help a teammate get to this position in case they needed to perform a resurrection or fire their Slow orbs. These will probably only be effective once or twice during a single ranked match, just like other entertaining tricks and angles that are similar to these. Even if you only get to use it once per game successfully, you won’t soon forget the round in which you do.
